Can I buy individual BattleTech miniatures at On-Board Gaming?
Absolutely! We stock lance packs and ForcePacks both in our Escondido store and online, so you can expand your forces with exactly the mechs and BattleMech variants you need. These miniature packs offer groups of plastic miniatures ready for immediate play.
Does BattleTech work well for competitive play?
Definitely. BattleTech supports both the detailed classic BattleTech ruleset and the streamlined Alpha Strike system for faster, larger-scale engagements. The balanced unit options and multiple faction choices make the game competitive at tournament and casual levels alike.
How do I keep my BattleTech models in good condition?
Store assembled miniatures in protective foam cases to prevent damage to painted mechs. Keep unassembled kits in cool, dry conditions. Use proper hobby tools during assembly to avoid stress marks on the plastic miniatures, and consider applying a brush-on sealant after painting to protect your finished models.

What's the difference between classic BattleTech and Alpha Strike?
Classic BattleTech offers detailed, tactical combat where you manage heat levels, target specific mech locations, and track damage across individual components. Alpha Strike streamlines gameplay for faster battles and larger engagements, using simplified stat cards that let you field more miniatures in less time. Both systems use the same BattleTech miniatures and lance packs, so your collection works with either ruleset depending on the experience you want.
