Adeptus Custodes Squad Kits — Build Your Custodes Army

Build the core of your Custodes army with elite squad kits from Games Workshop. The Custodian Guard assembles 5 warriors armed with guardian spears or sentinel blades and storm shields, ideal for objective control. The Custodian Wardens field 5 veterans with a choice of guardian spear or castellan axe, while the Allarus Custodians bring a 3-model squad clad in Allarus Terminator armour for devastating teleport strikes.

Adeptus Custodes: Blade Champion

Adepta Custodes Characters & Elite Units — Lead Your Forces

Strengthen your forces with commanding characters and powerful elite units. The Shield-Captain leads from the front with a melta-equipped Pyrithite Spear and Praesidium Shield, while Trajann Valoris stands as one of the greatest warriors of the Emperor's Palace. The Vertus Praetors ride into battle as a 3-model squad astride Dawneagle jetbikes mounting hurricane bolters or salvo launchers, with imposing stature captured in every detail of the sculpt.

Adepta Custodes Codex & Reference Materials — Master Your Strategy

Get the most from your custodes army with the Codex: Adeptus Custodes. This 112-page hardback covers 18 datasheets for Adeptus Custodes and Sisters of Silence units, four themed Detachments like Auric Champions and Null Maiden Vigil, plus Crusade rules for building a crusade army across narrative campaigns. We also stock Datasheet Cards: Adeptus Custodes for quick in-game reference, keeping your strategy sharp from the first turn.

Adepta Custodes Hobby Supplies & Accessories — Complete Your Arsenal

Round out your order with paints, brushes, and hobby tools to bring every Adeptus Custodes miniature to life. The iconic auramite armour looks striking with the right gold base coat and a wash to deepen the recesses, and unique basing materials help your custodian guard and other warriors stand out on the tabletop. Guardians of the Golden Throne
The Adeptus Custodes have stood as the Emperor's personal bodyguard since the earliest days of Warhammer 40,000 lore, and they remain one of the most distinctive armies in the game. Hand-crafted as the greatest warriors of mankind, a custodes army plays unlike any other Imperium force, with low model counts offset by elite stat lines that turn each enemy unit encounter into a decisive moment. The gold-armoured kits make a commanding addition to any miniature gaming collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best Adeptus Custodes kit for beginners?

Start with the Codex: Adeptus Custodes and a Custodian Guard squad to get your datasheets, detachment rules, and a battleline unit on the table. The Combat Patrol: Adeptus Custodes is the next step if you want a Blade Champion, Allarus Custodians, and Custodian Wardens in one box.

Can I buy individual Adeptus Custodes squads at On-Board Gaming?

Yes. Both our Escondido store and online shop carry individual squad kits, characters, and jetbike units across the Adeptus Custodes range. Pick up exactly the units your custodes army needs without buying a full battleforce.

Do Adeptus Custodes work well for competitive play?

Definitely. High-toughness profiles, strong invulnerable saves, and devastating melee weapon attacks let small custodes units punch above their weight against enemy models on any target. Vertus Praetors with hurricane bolters add ranged threat in the shooting phase, and Martial Ka'tah stances give you flex turn to turn.

How do I keep my Adeptus Custodes models in good condition?

Clean mould lines before priming, then seal painted miniatures with a brush-on varnish to protect the gold finish. Store models in foam-lined cases and handle the Vertus Praetors' jetbike flying stems carefully, since those stems are the part most likely to snap during transport.

What makes Adeptus Custodes different from Space Marines and Grey Knights?

Space Marines and Grey Knights field full squads of genetically enhanced warriors, while each custodian is individually crafted as part of the Emperor's personal bodyguard. That means smaller model counts but elite stat lines, with every dice roll mattering more and a single Custodian going into base-to-base contact with an enemy unit able to swing a fight on its own.
